# How do I measure whether AI tools mention my business?

Combine three methods: free webmaster reports (Bing Webmaster Tools shows AI citation counts, and Google counts AI feature traffic inside Search Console), AI referral visits in your analytics, and a fixed set of buyer questions you test in AI tools each month. No single tool shows the full picture.

Bing is furthest ahead. In February 2026 it launched an AI Performance report in Bing Webmaster Tools. It shows how often Copilot and Bing AI answers cite your pages, plus sample queries. It does not show clicks.

Google counts traffic from AI Overviews and AI Mode in the Search Console Performance report, under the Web search type. It is included in overall search traffic, not shown as its own report.

Your analytics can show visits from AI tools, such as chatgpt.com, as referral sources. Pew found people rarely click links inside AI summaries, so visits undercount mentions.

Example: a commercial real estate broker writes 20 questions buyers ask. Each month, staff ask them in ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Claude, and Copilot. They log whether the firm is named or linked. Answers vary, so track trends, not single results.

Sovereo Web Works sends a monthly AI citation scorecard built on this kind of fixed question set.
